Bridget Wade joined UCL as a Professor of Micropalaeontology in 2013. She leads a research group of postdocs, PhD, and MSc students focused on Cenozoic palaeoceanography and palaeoecology using calcareous microfossils. Her group employs microfossil chemistry to determine patterns of evolution and extinction, marine temperatures, pH, productivity levels, and fluctuations in global ice volume and sea level. Her research has an international scope, involving fieldwork in Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico. Wade has actively participated as a shipboard scientist in several major programs, including the Ocean Drilling Program and the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program. Currently, she is engaged in multiple research projects focusing on Cenozoic climate change through excellently preserved planktonic foraminifera.
