Biography

Brittany Stagg is a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Her work focuses on providing care to older adults at the Healthy Aging Clinic while also supporting students in both classroom and clinical settings. Brittany's passion for geriatric care stems from her close relationship with her grandfather, whose strength, resilience, and humor during serious illness deeply influenced her perspective on aging and caregiving. With a decade of inpatient nursing experience in diverse medical-surgical and step-down units, she has developed a strong commitment to helping older adults navigate their complex health needs. Brittany believes that establishing strong relationships and providing education are key to enabling patients and their caregivers to confidently manage their health journeys. She also finds joy in mentoring students by bridging classroom theory with hands-on clinical practice, creating a supportive learning environment that emphasizes critical thinking and cultural humility, particularly in caring for vulnerable populations. Before joining the faculty at UC Davis, Brittany worked as a float nurse at the UC Davis Medical Center, gaining experience in medical-surgical and telemetry progressive care units, and practiced as a family nurse practitioner delivering home-based primary care to older adults in the Sacramento region.
