Biography

Brock Lindsey is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in orthopedic oncology. He treats both children and adults with various types of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. Dr. Lindsey's expertise lies in nanoparticle delivery for immunotherapy, immunodiagnostics, and novel treatment strategies for osteosarcoma, as well as complex reconstruction and amputation techniques including osseointegration. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at West Virginia University’s J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he also engaged in a comprehensive research fellowship. After pursuing a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and UPMC Children’s Hospital, he returned to West Virginia University Medicine as an attending physician. Dr. Lindsey has spent over 12 years at WVU Medicine, where he created programs in musculoskeletal oncology and adult reconstruction, as well as established a multidisciplinary amputation clinic. His research has led to national rankings and federal funding for orthopedic surgery departments, focusing on treatment strategies for metastatic osteosarcoma and the exploration of human/machine interfaces for amputees. He has published extensively in both national and international clinical and basic science research journals. An experienced mentor, Dr. Lindsey has trained students at various levels, from undergraduate to postdoctoral positions, and received the Press Ganey “Top Provider” award in 2013 and 2018. He also founded ICaPath, a biotech startup focused on translating laboratory research into human clinical trials.
