Biography

Bruce Christensen is a trained clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist with a notable academic career. He received his PhD in clinical psychology and neuroscience from Vanderbilt University after completing an APA-approved internship in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology at Long Island Jewish Medical Centre, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He has spent significant time as a postdoctoral fellow at the Rotman Research Institute, University of Toronto, researching neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and experimental psychopathology. Over nine years as a clinician-scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, he held adjunct appointments at multiple universities. In 2007, he transitioned to McMaster University and later, in 2014, became a faculty member at the Research School of Psychology at the Australian National University. He has also been a visiting scholar at Clare Hall, Centre for Advanced Study, Cambridge University. His research focuses on cognitive neurobiological mechanisms of mental illness, alongside involvement in various administrative and editorial roles within academic journals and research committees.
