Dr. Bruce Pardy

Biography

Bruce Pardy is a professor at Queen's Law, where he is recognized as a classical liberal legal academic specializing in the equal application of law, negative rights, private property, and limited government. He emphasizes the importance of foundational principles in the Canadian and Western legal tradition and is a vocal critic of legal progressivism and social justice ideologies. His research addresses pressing legal issues, including environmental governance, climate change, energy policy, human rights, and civil liberties, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pardy has taught at various law schools in Canada, the United States, and New Zealand, and he has an extensive track record in civil litigation practiced at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Toronto. Furthermore, he serves as an adjudicator and mediator at the Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal and is actively involved with the Fraser Institute and the Runnymede Society. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Rights Probe, a division of the Energy Probe Research Foundation.
