Biography

Bruce Tai is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, obtained in 2011, and a Master’s degree in Applied Mechanics from National Taiwan University, completed in 2006. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University in 2004. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he has received several prestigious awards, including the ASME Fellow designation in 2022 and the TEES Engineering Genesis Award in 2019. Additionally, he was honored with the TEES Young Faculty Fellow Award at Texas A&M University in 2018 and the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 2017. Tai's work continues to make significant impacts in the realm of advanced manufacturing and engineering education.
