Biography

Bruce K Tan, MD, is an Associate Professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. He specializes in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery with a focus on chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal tumors, and smell and taste disturbances. Dr. Tan employs minimally invasive surgical approaches for skull base issues and is involved in research concerning the mechanisms of smell loss and therapeutics for sinus disease. He received his BS from Cornell University in 1999, his MD from the University of Chicago in 2004, and an MS from Northwestern University in 2014. Dr. Tan completed his postgraduate training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he underwent general surgery internship and residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He was appointed Chief Resident in 2009 and completed a fellowship in Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery at Northwestern University in 2010. Additionally, he serves on the Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and is actively involved in external professional relationships with various pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies to advance patient care and research in his field.
