Biography

Bruno Cavalcanti obtained his DDS in 1998 and a Master's in Dentistry in 2001 from São Paulo State University (Unesp), followed by a PhD in Endodontics from the University of São Paulo in 2004. He received certification in Endodontics from the National Council of Dentistry in 2012. Cavalcanti began his academic career as part-time faculty in 2001 while maintaining private practices in São José dos Campos, Brazil. In 2009, he completed postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan under Dr. Jacques and has been a full-time faculty member since 2012. His teaching experience spans undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on Comprehensive Care and Endodontics. His research interests include Pulp Biology, biocompatibility of dental materials, and tissue engineering, with funding from various research foundations in Brazil and the USA. Cavalcanti has published numerous papers on Endodontics practice and is actively engaged in service roles, having served on various committees within professional institutions. He is currently a member of the Research Scientific Affairs Committee of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE), the Constitution Committee of the American Association of Dental Research (AADR), and chairs the Awards Review Committee of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He is also the elected Vice-President of the Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group of IADR, serves as a reviewer for several key dental and Endodontics journals, and is on the Editorial Board of the Clinical Oral Investigations Journal and the Associate Editor for Endodontics at Brazilian Dental Science Frontiers Dentistry.
