Professor Barbieri has general research interests in the area of strategic marketing planning in complex and changing marketing macroenvironments. His particular research interests focus primarily on marketing mindset, market orientation, marketing competencies assessment, and strategy planning. He has contributed to the field with his publication, 'Marketing Paradigm Twenty-First Century,' featured in the leading-selling text, 'Basic Marketing: Global Managerial Approach' (Shapiro, S; Perrault, W; McCarthy, E: Irwin - 1999).
