Biography

Professor Bryan T. Kelly is the Frederick Frank ’54 Mary C. Tanner Professor of Finance at Yale School of Management and Associate Director of the International Center for Finance. His primary research areas are asset pricing and financial econometrics, with specific interests in financial machine learning, volatility, tail risk, correlation modeling of financial markets, the banking sector, systemic risk, and financial intermediation. Professor Kelly has published in leading journals including the American Economic Review and Journal of Finance. Before joining Yale, he was a tenured professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He earned his PhD in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2010, a Master’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego in 2005, and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago in 2000. He has experience in investment banking with Morgan Stanley.
