Biography

Bryan Parno is a Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Senior Member of both the ACM and IEEE. Parno received his Bachelor's degree from Harvard College and completed his PhD at Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of Adrian Perrig, with a dissertation that won the 2010 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award. Before returning to CMU, he spent six years as a researcher at Microsoft Research, where he focused on a range of topics related to secure systems, including end-to-end guarantees, formal software verification, applied cryptography, and usable security.
