Biography

Bryan W. Roberts is a Professor of Philosophy at the London School of Economics (LSE). His academic career includes a fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he taught in the Part III programme in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from 2019 to 2022. At LSE, he serves as the Director of the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Sciences (CPNSS) and coordinates the Philosophy Physics Bootcamp. His research interests bridge philosophy, physics, and aesthetics, with a focus on general relativity, quantum field theory, and the philosophical implications of time, space, and finance. Roberts was awarded the Leverhulme Prize in 2019 and is currently leading a team on the 'Philosophical Foundations of the Edge of the Universe' project funded by an ERC Consolidator grant. He published a book with Cambridge University Press in 2022 titled 'Reversing Arrow Time', which is available Open Access. Additionally, he is actively involved in governance matters concerning LGBTQIA+ staff networks at LSE.
