Biography

Bryan R. Smith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Michigan State University. His research focuses on blending engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, and medicine to develop new imaging and therapeutic approaches. He is heavily involved in developing novel nanotechnology-based strategies that harness the power of the immune system, as well as creating innovative diagnostic imaging and therapeutic agents for diseases such as cancer and atherosclerosis. Bryan holds a B.S. degree in Physics, Mathematics, and Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University, earned in 2000, followed by a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Ohio State University in 2006. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Imaging Radiology at Stanford University, which spanned from 2006 to 2011.
