Dr. Bryn Mumma

Biography

Bryn Elissa Mumma, M.D., M.A.S. is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis Health System, specializing in Emergency Medicine. She holds board certifications from the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has been a licensed physician since 2010 in California. Mumma completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Wake Forest University in 2003 before earning her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2007. She subsequently completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in Research at UC Davis, focusing on critical patient care. Dr. Mumma is actively involved in academic contributions and has received numerous awards, including the Top 100 Abstract at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Annual Meeting in 2020 and the Young Investigator Award in 2018. Her research interests are primarily in the areas of cardiac health and emergency medical practices, with numerous publications in prominent medical journals addressing acute medical conditions and innovative treatment protocols. She is also dedicated to diversity in medicine, having received awards recognizing her contributions to fostering inclusive educational environments in her department.
