Professor Dr. Brynn Hibbert

Biography

Brynn Hibbert is an Emeritus Professor at the University of New South Wales, having held the Chair in Analytical Chemistry from 1987 until his retirement in 2013. Hibbert's early education includes a BSc with Honours in Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from King's College, University of London. His research interests encompass electroanalytical chemistry, chemometrics, and metrology in chemistry, as well as contributing to the public understanding of science and examining scientific misconduct. He has authored around 300 papers, six books, and holds three patents. Notably, his book 'Data Analysis Chemistry: Introductory Guide for Students and Laboratory Scientists' was published by Oxford University Press in 2005. Hibbert has been acknowledged with several awards, including the RACI Olle Prize in 2007 and being made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2018 for his significant contributions to the discipline of chemistry. Additionally, he serves on various advisory committees and editorial boards, including roles related to IUPAC and the development of terminology in analytical chemistry. His work on electrochemistry has implications for both technological applications and forensic analyses.
