Biography

Professor Bryony Dean Franklin is a visiting professor at the Centre for Prevention Management at Imperial College London, where she leads research focused on medication safety and the safe use of technology. She serves as the Executive Lead Pharmacist (Research) for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is the Director of the Centre for Medication Safety Service Quality (CMSSQ), a joint research unit with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and UCL School of Pharmacy. Professor Franklin also leads the theme on Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance for the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU), a collaborative initiative involving Imperial College London, Public Health England, Cambridge University Veterinary School, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and the North West London Academic Health Science Network. In her work, she collaborates closely with public health officials to develop innovations and technologies aimed at improving patient safety and infection prevention as well as optimizing antimicrobial use.
