Biography

Bud Nicola is an affiliate professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. He worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. During his tenure at the CDC, Nicola served as a field assignee at the University of Washington's Northwest Center for Public Health Practice within the School of Public Health. Prior to joining the CDC, he directed the Public Health – Seattle & King County and served as the director of the COPHP program. He is a member of the King County Board of Health and has contributed to the national Public Health Accreditation Board. Nicola holds a Master's in Health Services Administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan and a Medical Doctorate (M.D.) from the University of Oregon.
