Dr. Budy Resosudarmo

Biography

Budy P. Resosudarmo is a developmental environmental economist whose work focuses on the economy-wide impacts of economic and environmental policies on local economies, household incomes, and human development. He analyzes the political economy of environmental policies and natural resource utilization. Resosudarmo conducts research and implements impact evaluations using spatial inter-regional modeling techniques. Currently, he collaborates with Indonesian research institutes to investigate developmental environmental issues in Southeast Asia, especially in Eastern Indonesia. His areas of focus include energy transformation integration and disaster management in lagging development regions. Budy has held prominent positions, such as President of the Asian Association of Environmental Resource Economics from 2021 to 2023, and has been actively involved in various advisory committees related to regional science and environmental economics. He was also a Senior Practitioner Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and has numerous academic qualifications, including a PhD in Development Economics from Cornell University. His research interests encompass Development Economics, Resource Environmental Economics, Urban Regional Economics, and Impact Evaluation among others.
