Dr. Burak Gunay

Biography

H. Burak Gunay is an Associate Professor in the field of Building Science Engineering at Carleton University. With a B.A.Sc. from Bogazici University, and both M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Carleton University, he specializes in the area of Civil Environmental Engineering. His research interests lie in adaptive indoor climate control, automated fault detection diagnostics, data-driven modeling in building science, building performance simulation, and the implementation of big data in intelligent buildings. As the Director and Associate Chair of Graduate Studies for Building Engineering, he plays a significant role in the academic direction and development of graduate programs within the discipline. His teaching contributions include courses on Building Science, Energy Management, Green Building Design, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Through his work, he strives to improve building performance and sustainability in the built environment.
