Biography

Byron Bahniuk is a certified athletic therapist and massage therapist with extensive experience working with Bisons student-athletes and community members in treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He has a significant role as an educator, currently serving as an Instructor and practicum coordinator within the Athletic Therapy Program at the University of Manitoba. Over the years, Byron has gained clinical experience through various positions at Pan Clinic, Associated Rehab Consultants Canada, Balance Point, Therapy & Herbal Alliance, and the University of Manitoba Athletic Therapy Centre. He has served as the medical liaison for Team Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games in 2013 and has acted as medical coordinator for numerous major sporting events including field lacrosse nationals and Canadian National Track & Field championships. He is also an Athletic Therapist for Team Canada volleyball. Byron holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba (2021), a diploma in massage therapy from Wellington Remedial Massage College (2003), and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Manitoba (1998). He specializes in Muscle Energy Techniques, Soft Tissue Release, Neuro-proprioceptive taping, and Functional Movement Screening, among others.
