Biography

Byron Reeves is the Paul C. Edwards Professor of Communication at Stanford University and a professor by courtesy in the Graduate School of Education. He has a long history of experimental research on psychological processing media and its resulting effects. His work has primarily focused on the influence of media on attention, memory, and emotional responses, with applied research areas that include speech dialogue systems, interactive games, advanced displays, social robots, and autonomous cars. He is an elected Fellow of the International Communication Association and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field.
