Dr. C. Adams holds an MD and MSc and is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her undergraduate medical degree in 1997 at the Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara, Romania, followed by an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Adams pursued postgraduate training in psychiatry at the University of Saskatchewan, achieving FRCPC in 2010. She further enhanced her training with a Fellowship at the University of Toronto in 2011. Dr. Adams has established the Attachment Research Lab at the University of Saskatchewan and has focused on the relationship between attachment and mental health for the past decade. Her research interests include the impact of religious and spiritual views on resilience and vulnerability in mental health. Additionally, she explores the role of humanities—such as art, music, literature, and religion—in promoting well-being. Dr. Adams has received the Teaching Faculty Teaching Award in 2016 and has significant clinical interests in mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and interpersonal group therapy. Currently, she leads several research projects examining the relationships among religious/spiritual views, trauma, substance abuse, and mental health.
