Biography

C.T. DeGroot is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University. His research focuses on wastewater modelling, particularly wastewater-based epidemiology, sewer bioprocesses, activated sludge processes, ultraviolet reactors, and microalgae photobioreactors. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, completed in 2012, and has previously served as a Research Scientist at Trojan Technologies and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Waterloo. DeGroot is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and actively participates in various academic and professional committees, including serving as Conference Co-Chair for the International Water Association's Young Water Professionals Conference and Treasurer for the Canadian Young Water Professionals Chapter.
