Dr. C Kouzinopoulos

Biography

C. Kouzinopoulos is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Computer Systems Research Area in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences at Maastricht University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Macedonia, Greece in 2013. Prior to joining Maastricht University, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow at CERN in Switzerland and as a Senior Research Scientist at CERTH/ITI in Greece. His research vision focuses on developing sustainable, low-power, intelligent systems for the Internet of Things, targeting high-impact application areas such as digital agriculture, smart cities, and healthcare within Industry 4.0. His specific research interests include hardware design and integration with an emphasis on low power consumption, miniaturization, and the development of compression algorithms based on the underlying hardware to enable intelligence at the edge. Additionally, he is involved in software-hardware co-design, computer architecture, and parallel distributed computing using GPGPU computing. Kouzinopoulos has a significant career history, previously holding positions at recognized institutions and contributing to cutting-edge research in his field.
