Biography

As Curator of South Asian Islamic Studies at Stanford, I am responsible for building the library's collection of materials related to South Asia and the Islamic world in English, European languages, and languages of the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia. This role involves the development and maintenance of a network of antiquarian dealers, book vendors, scholars, publishers, and libraries across these regions. In addition to responding to faculty teaching needs, I work in collaboration with the South Asia Center and the Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies to provide research assistance to faculty, students, and library users. I also oversee the Bahai collection and engage in various initiatives such as serving as Chair of the Executive Board for the South Asia Open Archives and being a board member at the Center for South Asia.
