Biography

C. P. Wong is a Regent’s Professor and the Charles Smithgall Institute Endowed Chair at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a robust academic background with a Ph.D. in Inorganic/Organic Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and postdoctoral training at Stanford University. His research interests encompass a broad range of topics including polymeric materials, electronic packaging interconnects, interfacial adhesion, and nano-functional material syntheses and characterizations. Professor Wong has conducted significant work in the area of nanomaterials and polymeric composites, contributing to the development of energy-related materials such as perovskite solar cells and energy storage devices including batteries and super-capacitors. He holds 65 U.S. patents and has authored over 1000 technical papers and 12 books. His dedication to science has earned him several prestigious awards including the IEEE Millennium Medal and the International Dresden Barkhausen Award. Professor Wong is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering in the USA.
