Dr. C Campbell

Biography

C G Campbell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bristol, where he conducts research in the Intelligent Systems Laboratory. He holds a Class Honours degree in Physics from Imperial College, London, and a Doctorate from King's College, London. His research primarily focuses on machine learning, probabilistic graphical models, kernel-based methods, and algorithm design, with applications in machine learning techniques in the field of bioinformatics, particularly medical bioinformatics. Campbell's contributions to the field have been supported by generous funding from organizations such as the Medical Research Council and PASCAL2. He has published numerous works, including the book 'Learning Support Vector Machines,' co-authored with Yiming Ying, which provides a comprehensive introduction to support vector machines and kernel-based learning methodologies.
