Biography

Caitlin Neri, MD, MPH, is a clinician-educator working at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She focuses on the care of children with sickle cell disease and the management of painful conditions in childhood. Her work integrates interdisciplinary pediatric care, considers social determinants of health, and emphasizes medical education. As a clinical hematologist, Dr. Neri provides both inpatient and outpatient care for children suffering from sickle cell disease and other blood disorders. She co-founded and serves as the medical director of the interdisciplinary Pediatric Pain Clinic at Boston Medical Center, a unique program established in 2015 that employs a team approach to deliver comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and integrative therapies for pediatric patients with chronic pain. Dr. Neri is also involved in medical education, participating in the redesign of the pre-clerkship curriculum and serving as co-course director for the Principles Incorporating Science into Clinical Medicine Equity (PISCEs), directing the hematology module. She is a member of the Boston University Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease and engages in interdisciplinary biomedical research.
