Biography

Caleb Browne is an Assistant Professor and Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) within the Department of Psychiatry. He earned his BSc and MA in Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed his PhD, focusing his research on neurobiology and addiction. Dr. Browne was awarded the NSERC postdoctoral fellowship, where he conducted research at the Department of Neuroscience and the Friedman Brain Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. The Browne Lab employs a multidimensional approach, integrating operant behavioral paradigms with advanced techniques such as fiber photometry and two-photon calcium imaging to monitor and manipulate brain activity in vivo. He has received funding from the CAMH Discovery Fund and other national innovation grants, and his work has been featured in prominent media outlets. Dr. Browne has also been recognized with the Generation Award from the Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
