Biography

Calum Lindsay is a Research Associate in the Department of General Practice and Primary Care in the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. Currently, he is working on a project aimed at developing interventions to reduce the issue of 'missingness' in healthcare, which addresses the problem of multiple missed appointments and low uptake of healthcare services. Calum completed his PhD at the University of Stirling in 2022, where his thesis utilized qualitative methods to explore the impacts of the UK's hostile immigration policies on child and family wellbeing, examining the role of services and sources of support in the lives of those with precarious and uncertain immigration status. He holds an MSc in Social Work, obtained in 2016, and has extensive experience working with voluntary sector organizations that support refugee and migrant communities across Scotland. Before joining the University of Glasgow, he worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Stirling on the Relations Study, which explored the support systems used by parents who misuse drugs in the UK.
