Biography

Cam Donaldson is a part-time professor of Health Economics at the Australian National University (ANU) and holds the Yunus Chair at Glasgow Caledonian University. He is an internationally renowned expert in developing methods and frameworks for health care priority setting and evaluation, with substantial applications in public health. He began his academic career in universities such as York and Sydney before holding professorships at the University of Aberdeen, Svare Chair at the University of Calgary, and the Health Foundation Chair at Newcastle University, where he won competitive funding through a national competition. Over his career, he has published more than 300 papers in refereed journals and authored eight books, accumulating around £30 million in competitive research funding, with approximately £11 million as the principal investigator. His contributions to the field have been recognized through senior investigatorships funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the UK's National Institute for Health Research. He was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2022.
