Biography

Cam Tsujita is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Western University. He obtained his Ph.D. from McMaster University in 1995. His research interests are focused on various aspects of paleontology, examining taphonomic processes, fossil preservation, and paleoecology of both Paleozoic and Mesozoic invertebrate communities. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of event stratigraphy and molluscan paleobiology, especially regarding ammonoids. In addition, he explores geomicrobiology as it relates to fossil preservation, as well as sedimentology and stratigraphy, focusing on mudrocks. Tsujita is also dedicated to geoscience education and outreach and proposes ways to integrate Earth sciences into popular culture. His publications cover a range of topics in geology, demonstrating his depth of knowledge in the field. He is actively involved in educating students about Earth sciences through various courses.
