Biography

Camden Hutchison is an Associate Professor at the Peter Allard School of Law and the Director of the Centre for Business Law. His research and teaching focus on corporate transactions, comparative corporate governance, and the historical development of corporate law. He has published works on corporate taxation and competition law, and his current research emphasizes directors' duties and shareholders' rights in an international context. Before joining the law faculty, Camden earned his Ph.D. in history from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where his dissertation explored the history of corporate regulation in the nineteenth and twentieth-century United States. Prior to his academic career, he practiced as a corporate associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, representing private equity firms and public corporations in mergers, acquisitions, and various corporate transactions. Camden holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. in history from the University of Rochester.
