Dr. Cameron Gettel

Biography

Cameron Gettel, MD, MHS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale University. He serves as a Clinical Investigator at the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) and as the Co-Director of the Yale Emergency Scholars Fellowship. Dr. Gettel's research primarily focuses on improving emergency department care transitions for the geriatric population, with a special interest in the development of patient- and caregiver-reported outcome measures. He has received numerous accolades including the 2023-2025 National Academy of Medicine Fellow and has been involved in NIH-funded research aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes for older adults. Dr. Gettel completed his MD at Pennsylvania State University and his residency in Emergency Medicine at Brown University. He is actively engaged in academic organizations such as the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. His work is centered on delivering innovative strategies to promote effective healthcare delivery in emergency settings.
