Biography

Cameron D. Mackey is a researcher in the Department of Life Sciences Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has earned a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Ohio University and a M.S. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Additionally, he holds a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Jacksonville State University. Mackey's research primarily investigates how majority group members react to threats against their status and how minority group members cope with underprivileged status. He pays particular attention to the perspectives of religious and non-religious individuals regarding the relationship between religion and science, especially its impact on participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. His academic work has been published in reputable journals such as Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Psychology of Religion and Spirituality, Group Processes & Intergroup Relations, and Public Understanding of Science.
