Biography

Cameron Van Eck is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian National University since September 2022. He previously worked as a Research Associate at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto from August 2018 to August 2022. Prior to that, he completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Calgary in 2018, and he holds a PhD from Radboud University Nijmegen, obtained in October 2017. His academic journey also includes MSc and BSc degrees from the University of Calgary, completed in 2012 and 2010 respectively. Cameron specializes in the study of cosmic magnetism, particularly the magnetic fields of the interstellar medium of the Milky Way, and focuses on the observations of astrophysical radio emissions. He engages in radio astronomy observations and works on the processing and analysis of these observations, including the development of improved analysis methods. He is also a registered supervisor for research students.
