Biography

Cao Tach Tran, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute specializing in cardiology. He obtained his medical doctorate from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. After completing his residency at North Shore University Hospital affiliated with Hofstra North Shore School of Medicine, he pursued a fellowship in general cardiology at the University of South Alabama, followed by a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Johns Hopkins University. His research interests are centered around sudden cardiac death, potassium dynamics, and the underlying mechanisms of arrhythmias, particularly with a focus on modulators of cardiac repolarization. Tran has also taught courses in anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based medicine and is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Medical Association and the Danish Medical Association.
