Biography

Cari McIlduff is an Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from King’s University College in Edmonton, AB, and completed her PhD at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. Cari has also held postdoctoral positions at the University of Queensland and the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focuses on community health epidemiology, particularly with Indigenous communities globally, emphasizing cultural safety and self-determination. She has authored a parenting module for families dealing with trauma and toxic stress and has co-developed a Model for Engaging Communities Collaboratively, which has been implemented in 42 communities in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Cari’s academic interests include mental health, epigenetics, and the impacts of colonization and racism on Indigenous Peoples, as well as child and family wellbeing.
