Dr. Carina Yang

Biography

Dr. Carina W. Yang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Chicago, where she serves as the Vice Chair for Diversity & Inclusion and the Director of Pediatric Neuroradiology. She has extensive experience directing the Neuroradiology Fellowship for eight years and has played a key role in establishing the Fellowship Accreditation Graduate Medical Education Office. Her clinical expertise includes interpreting neuroradiological CT and MR examinations, and she actively advocates for minimizing radiation exposure in pediatric patients. Dr. Yang's commitment to medical education is reflected in her activities as a faculty member, where she has developed innovative simulation programs designed to bridge knowledge gaps among radiologists. Her research interests focus on diversity within radiology, and she has initiated programs to support underrepresented minorities in the field. Additionally, she has participated in educational initiatives worldwide, promoting the advancement of neuroradiology in various countries. She has received numerous accolades, including being named a Fellow of the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators at the University of Chicago Medicine and earning honors for her contributions to medical education research and teaching.
