Biography

Carina Yang is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Chicago Medicine and serves as Vice Chair for Diversity & Inclusion and Director of Pediatric Neuroradiology. She has extensive expertise in interpreting neuroradiological CT and MR examinations and is dedicated to developing techniques that minimize radiation exposure during imaging for pediatric patients. Dr. Yang completed her medical education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and pursued her residency and fellowship in Radiology and Neuroradiology at Northwestern as well. She is passionate about medical education and has developed a simulation program for training radiology residents and fellows in the diagnosis and management of contrast reactions. Dr. Yang has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in simulation in radiology and has co-founded the Chicagoland Radiology Expo, focusing on increasing diversity in the field. With her leadership, significant emphasis has been placed on recruitment processes that promote diversity and community outreach. She has also held multiple international visiting professorships, sharing her knowledge of pediatric neuroradiology globally. Dr. Yang continues to support educational initiatives and mentorship in various communities around the world.
