Biography

Carl Borrebaeck is an Expert Professor in the Department of Immunotechnology at Lund University, where he leads research focused on biological therapeutic concepts, particularly in cancer treatments and advanced diagnostics through multiplexed biomarker discovery. His work in cancer therapy involves recombinant antibodies targeting tumor-associated molecules and checkpoint inhibitors, contributing to numerous clinical trials aimed at improving treatments for patients. Borrebaeck's diagnostic efforts utilize advanced microarray platforms with the vision of developing affinity proteomic technologies for early diagnosis, specifically targeting pancreatic, breast, and prostate cancers. His innovative approach has achieved remarkable accuracy of 96% in differentiating pancreatic cancer patients from healthy controls in various studies.
