Biography

Carl de Boer is an Assistant Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. He completed his PhD in the lab of Tim Hughes at the University of Toronto and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Aviv Regev's lab at the Broad Institute until the end of 2019. His research group aims to develop genomic computational tools that will enable a better understanding of how the genome is regulated and how to treat various diseases. His research interests include gene regulation, synthetic genomics, autoimmunity, heart disease, machine learning, cancer, complex diseases, genetics evolution, and personalized medicine.
