Biography

Carl Gutwin is a Professor and the Graduate Chair in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Calgary in 1997 and earned his Master’s degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Computer Science, which he completed in 1988 at the University of Saskatchewan. He has also held a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waikato in New Zealand in 1998. His research interests primarily focus on Human Computer Interaction and Computer Supported Cooperative Work, where he explores how technology can enhance collaborative efforts among users. Carl has taught a variety of courses in computer science, contributing significantly to the curriculum and student learning in the field.
