Biography

Dr. Carl Streed, Jr. is an Associate Professor at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in General Internal Medicine. He is also the Research Director for the GenderCare Center at Boston Medical Center, where he collaborates with researchers and clinicians to enhance health and well-being for transgender and gender diverse communities. His work aims to assess and address health disparities and achieve equity in healthcare access and outcomes. Dr. Streed incorporates principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in his clinical and research practices, focusing particularly on marginalized populations, especially sexual and gender minorities. He has held leadership roles in prominent organizations, including chairing the American Medical Association Advisory Committee on LGBTQ Issues and serving on the board of the GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality.
