Biography

Carlos H. Caldas is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has more than eighteen years of experience in construction engineering and project management. His doctoral research focused on construction engineering project management and computational science engineering. Caldas is a board member of the International Association of Automation and Robotics in Construction and has served in various capacities including chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Computing Division and the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Academic Committee. He is also involved in multiple ASCE technical committees. Currently, he serves as specialty editor for the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.
