Biography

Carlos H. Caldas is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has over eighteen years of experience in construction engineering and project management. His doctoral research focused on construction engineering project management and computational science engineering. Caldas is a board member of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction and has been involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in various roles including chair of the Computing Division and the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Academic Committee. He is a member of the ASCE Construction Research Council and has contributed to the ASCE Technical Committee on Data Sensing Automation and Visualization, Simulation, and Information Modeling. Currently, he serves as a specialty editor for the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.
