Professor Dr. Carlos Larriba Andaluz

Biography

Carlos Larriba-Andaluz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University, which he completed in December 2010. His academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, both obtained from E.T.S.I.A. in September 2005. Larriba-Andaluz's research interests are diverse and encompass several areas critical to engineering and applied sciences, including Renewable Energy, Catalysts, and Aerosol Pollution. His expertise extends to advanced topics such as Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry and Electrical Propulsion, as well as Polymer and Protein Biomolecule Characterization. He is involved in fundamental research with a focus on Energy Transfer and Molecular Dynamics, addressing challenges in Multiscale and Multichemistry systems, and Plasma Modeling. Larriba-Andaluz is dedicated to contributing to cutting-edge developments in propulsion technologies, playing a pivotal role within academic and industry partnerships.
