Dr. Carlos Perez De Los Heros

Biography

Carlos Perez de los Heros is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Uppsala University since November 2022. He was appointed Associate Professor in January 2006 after being a Docent in High Energy Physics since October 2002. His research specializes in Particle Physics and Particle Astrophysics, where he is a member of the IceCube collaboration, working on the largest neutrino telescope in the world. His primary research interests include the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model, dark matter, and new particle searches, as well as testing fundamental physical laws related to neutrinos. He has a strong academic background, having completed his PhD in Physics at the Weizmann Institute of Science in January 1996 and possessing a Master's degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has held various prestigious positions, including a senior researcher role with the Swedish Research Council. Perez de los Heros is active in collaborative research efforts, co-leading groups within IceCube and contributing to European projects involving quantum gravity phenomenology and low-energy physics.
