Dr. Carlos Quintero Febres

Biography

Carlos Quintero-Febres is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan, awarded in 1997, and a Master’s degree in the same field from the University of Iowa, earned in 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes in Mérida, Venezuela, in 1986. His research interests focus on the design of earthquake-resistant structures, reliability-based evaluation of existing structures, and probabilistic analysis in structural design. He also works on experimental and numerical modeling of structures, contributing to advancements in civil engineering principles applicable to diverse engineering challenges. Quintero-Febres is committed to educating future engineers and implementing innovative teaching strategies in the classroom, emphasizing the importance of practical applications in engineering education.
