Biography

Carlos Solarte is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at the University of Alberta. He is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Adult Strabismus Surgeon, working at the University of Alberta and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. He holds the Aman Builders Inc. His academic interests also extend to global ophthalmology and capacity building, having worked with Orbis International to contribute to surgical education and residency development across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He represents the University of Alberta in international academic partnerships, focusing on sustainable improvements in resident education and faculty training.
